The Congregation of Holy Cross, Southern Province

For well over 100 years the members or the Congregation of Holy Cross have offered their services as auxiliaries to the local churches in carrying out the evangelizing and sanctifying mission of Christ in Louisiana (1849), Texas (1870) and in Mexico (1987).

In the light of our Constitutions, We the members of the Southern Province offer our human and material resources, in the pursuit of justice and peace, preferentially on behalf of the poor and powerless.

 According to the writings of our founder, Father Moreau, and our Constitutions, we have come together as a religious community in order to carry out our mission.

Therefore we:

Try to discern God's will in
our life and ministry;

Support one another morally,
spiritually, and financially;

Share the Word and
Sacrament at the Eucharistic table;

Pray the Liturgy of the Hours
in common (Morning Prayer and/or Evening Prayer);

Pledge to continue our collaboration
among Sisters, Brothers, and Priests of Holy Cross;

Give preference to the poor
and those who live on the margin of society;

Cross the boundaries of nations
and language in our community to be
evangelizers and educators in the faith.
